First trip to the Beach!

Todd had a fabulous trip (in my opinion) around the world in 10 days for work , so mom and I decided to take the girls to the beach for the first time. We stayed in an amazing condo right on the beach for 9 days! We saw dolphins, played in the sand and waves, managed to avoid the crocodiles (the girls wouldn't go near the waves "because of the crocodiles"), played in the pools, chased crabs, collected seashells, went to the zoo, made new friends, watched movies and had popcorn EVERY night and generally had SO much fun. There were definitely un-fun parts, and I lamented to mom "Why does this have to be so hard" many, many times. Alas, it was several thousand times easier with her in Florida than it would have been here alone! Thank you God for my wonderful mother!

Jade was terrified of the sand at first and refused to put her feet in it (Just like yours truly when I was a toddler). Grammy worked her magic and poof, sand feels nice on your feet. She loved looking at seashells, and planning our nightly movies.
Samara thought the sand was snow at first and made a nice "snowball" to throw in Grammy and Siene's faces. She's lucky she's so cute. I slathered the girls in 85 SPF sunblock, but Samara (and only Samara) got perfectly tanned little legs! That is certainly not like my skin, maybe more like Grammy. She loved the water and could play all day in the pools. She has no fear and is surprisingly good in the water for a 2 year old.
Siene was a perfect angel. Except for blowing out EVERY diaper during the trip. She was not a fan of the long drive, but still did quite well. She and Grammy had some good bonding time while I played with the girls in the sand and water.
Of course, what is a trip without Grammy taking over 500 pictures! I'm not kidding and very grateful.

Haha, I love this post. Especially the picture of Samara jumping into the pool, that's classic!

It is so great that you and your mom and daughters were able to take this trip... what a memory to have years down the road.

You're a great mom, I am very sure. In fact (and this is probably not the best place to say this but how else will I, and, it might just encourage you),... Matt and I both wanted you and Todd to be on our Will to have custody of Joseph after he was born. But, since we moved away and weren't related, we figured it wouldn't be the best idea... Anyway... I could tell even before you had children that the two of you would make great parents. I don't say that lightly either.

Oh, and we had our baby... Rebekah is 7 weeks old now. If you'll email me your address, I'll send you our yearly 'Easter' letter with pics (as opposed to a Christmas letter)... Banowetz@gmail.com
